Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003C Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(3): The employer began work without determining if employees could contact any part of an energized circuit and did not post warning signs and advise employees of the location of the circuit, hazards, and protective measures they need to take. a) On or about April 4, 2024, at the above addressed jobsite, the employer did not determine whether electric power circuits could be contacted by employees during performance of their work at the site, thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards. b) On or about April 4, 2024, at the above addressed jobsite, employees permitted to work in cabinets of a variable frequency drive were in proximity to energized electric power circuits with voltage of 7403.47 volts and were not protected against electric shock, thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards. c) On or about April 4, 2024, at the above addressed jobsite, employees were in proximity to energized electric power circuits with voltage of 480 volts and were not protected against electric shock, thereby exposing employees to electrical hazards. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
