Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003C Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.107(c)(2): Minimum separation. There shall be no open flame or spark producing equipment in any spraying area nor within 20 feet thereof, unless separated by a partition. On or about November 7, 2023, to March 7, 2024, at an establishment located at 724 South Industrial Drive in Waupaca, Wisconsin, in the spray finishing room; employees utilized a Makita DT-11 impact driver equipped with an 18V lithium ion battery to secure wood products to hangers to dry. The brushed motor in the tool's housing produced sparks during use, exposing employees to fire and burn hazards.
