29 CFR 1910.219(c)(2)(i): All exposed parts of horizontal shafting seven (7) feet or less from floor or working platform, excepting runways used exclusively for oiling, or running adjustments, shall be protected by a stationary casing enclosing shafting completely or by a trough enclosing sides and top or sides and bottom of shafting as location requires: On or about October 2, 2023, at a facility located at 246 Trowbridge Drive in Fond du Lac, WI; the employer did not enclose or guard all exposed parts of horizontal shafting less than seven feet above the floor. Horizontal shafts on the conveyors that fed the cubing machines on Lines 1, 2, and 4 were not enclosed and exposed employees loading cheese on the conveyors to entanglement hazards.
