29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: Casino and Hotel Housekeeping, Kitchen, Janitorial Closets, Travel Center Store, and Maintenance Shop: Employees used corrosive chemicals such as Spartan NABC concentrate bathroom cleaner; Auto Chlor products including MACH Turbo, D-Grease, Super 8 cleaner, Scale Kleen, MACH Enviro Dry and QA solution; Pure Bright Bleach, Rapid Set Cement All, Arctic Ice Machine Cleaner concentrate and hazardous chemicals such as Lock Lubricant & De-icer, Oatey PVC Cement, WD40, Gorilla Glue Adhesive during cleaning and maintenance operations. The employer did not provide effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment. The employees were exposed to eye burns, blindness, dermal burns, and severe skin damage.
