29 CFR 1910.1026(d)(1): The employer with a workplace or work operation covered by this standard did not determine the 8-hour time-weighted average exposure for each employee exposed to chromium (VI): Employees engaged in welding activities in the welding bay were exposed to health hazards associated with exposure to hexavalent chromium in that an initial assessment had not been conducted: (a) Employee engaged in welding activities in welding bay was exposed to hexavalent chromium at an eight-hour time-weighted average of 11.9 microgram per cubic meter, which exceed OSHA PEL of 5 microgram per cubic meter during 480 minutes of personal air sampling performed on January 19th, 2018 in that an initial evaluation was not conducted to determine exposure to hexavalent chromium. (b) Employee engaged in welding activities in welding bay was exposed to hexavalent chromium at an eight-hour time-weighted average of 6.4 microgram per cubic meter, which exceed OSHA PEL of 5 microgram per cubic meter during 480 minutes of personal air sampling performed on January 19th, 2018 in that an initial evaluation was not conducted to determine exposure to hexavalent chromium.
