29 CFR 1910.178(c)(2)(iv): Power-operated industrial trucks designated as DY, EE, or EX were not used in locations where volatile flammable liquids or flammable gases were handled, processed or used, but in which the hazardous liquids, vapors or gases would normally be confined or prevented by positive mechanical ventilation. a) In Shop 3 and 4 painting areas, On Aug 20, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees used a Caterpillar diesel powered industrial truck Model V80 within five (5) feet of the tank painting operations where MEK, Xylene, Aliphatic Hydrocarbon solvent, Ethyl benzene, Methyl n-Propyl Ketone were used. The forklift is not classified for hazardous locations. Note: Abatement certification AND documentation are required for this item.
