29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: a) On or about September 24, 2013-Job site at 130-45 180th Street Jamaica, NY 11434 Employer permitted employees to pull Hexylene Glycol from drums using a drum siphon pump without eye protection. b) On or about September 24, 2013-Job site at 130-45 180th Street Jamaica, NY 11434 Employer permitted employees to use safety glasses instead of goggles for liquid chemical posing a splash hazard DB Solvent (Butyl Carbitol), Toluene, and Methanol while transferring liquid from barrel spigot and fine powders MetsoPH (sodium metasilicate pentahydrate) when scooping. WRITTEN ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
