29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employers did not provide employees with effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new physical or health hazard the employees have not previously been trained about was introduced into their work area. Information and training may be designed to cover categories of hazards (e.g., flammability, carcinogenicity) or specific chemicals. Chemical-specific information must always be available through labels and material safety data sheets. a. Facility - The employer did not provide non-English speaking temporary employees with training. The employer regularly sprayed a layer of Clenesco Products Corporation CLN-644, doorway foaming sanitizer (an EPA-registered quaternary ammonium chloride compound), to entryway floors of the doorways to prevent cross-contamination from contaminated footwear and/or equipment between plant areas. The native languages of these employees were the following: English, Spanish, French, Chinese, Amharic, Burmish, and Nepali. Observed On or About June 7, 2013
