29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one-fourth inch: (a) Employees operating the Delta bench grinder at the south end of building 5 located at 301 Overland Park Place, New Century, Kansas to sharpen tools were exposed to struck-by hazards due to no tongue guard being provided for the right side abrasive wheel. (b) Employees operating the Sun Electric bench grinder in the shop room of building 5 located at 301 Overland Park Place, New Century, Kansas were exposed to struck-by hazards due to no tongue guard being provided for the left side abrasive wheel.
