29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i):The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed: (a) On or about August 15, 2024, the employer did not conduct periodic inspections of their energy control procedures to ensure that they were compliant, and that lockout was used by employees performing servicing and maintenance tasks on Krispy Kreme 270 PX doughnut production line including the Krispy Kreme 270 PX Extruder/Proofer. Employees tasked with fixing trays and cleaning/sanitizing were exposed to caught-in hazards of the moving parts (e.g. trays and cutters) created by the energized machines likely to result in serious injury.
