Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003B Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards: On or about May 21, 2024, employees were exposed to fall hazards of 11 feet, while exiting and accessing the top-plate via an extension ladder that only extended 1.5 ft. above the landing surface, on a residential construction site in Mahomet, Illinois. The employer did not provide ladder safety training to employees, in order to provide them with the knowledge necessary to recognize the hazards related to ladders, as well as the proper work procedures to follow, in order to minimize and eliminate theses hazards.
