29 CFR 1910.37(a)(4): Safeguard(s) designed to protect employees during an emergency (e.g., sprinkler systems, alarm systems, fire doors, exit lighting), were not in proper working order at all times: a) 1204 E. 12th St., Wilmington, DE 19802 (Front Exit Door/Building #3): On or about August 3, 2023, employees were exposed to hazards related to emergency evacuation of the building while working in the area where the exit sign leading to the egress access was not illuminated to ensure visibility in the event of an emergency evacuation. b) 1204 E. 12th St., Wilmington, DE 19802 (Building #3 sprinkler): On or about August 3, 2023, employees were exposed to hazards related to emergency evacuation of the building while working in the area where the sprinkler system was not inspected to ensure serviceability in the event of an emergency evacuation. c) 1204 E. 12th St., Wilmington, DE 19802 (Building #4 sprinkler): On or about August 3, 2023, employees were exposed to hazards related to emergency evacuation of the building while working in the area where the sprinkler system was not inspected to ensure serviceability in the event of an emergency evacuation. d) 1204 E. 12th St., Wilmington, DE 19802 (Building #3 emergency lighting): On or about August 3, 2023, employees were exposed to hazards related to emergency evacuation of the building when independent emergency lighting throughout the buildings were observed damaged or nonfunctional resulting in delayed egress due to low light, smoke, or fire conditions during an emergency evacuation. e) 1204 E. 12th St., Wilmington, DE 19802 (Building #4 emergency lighting): On or about August 3, 2023, employees were exposed to hazards related to emergency evacuation of the building when independent emergency lighting throughout the buildings were observed damaged or nonfunctional resulting in delayed egress due to low light, smoke, or fire conditions during an emergency evacuation.
