Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.212(a)(2):Guard(s) on machine(s) were not affixed to the machine or secured elsewhere when attachment to the machine was not possible: a) Building 3, On or about January 27, 2023, the right side of Machine #: 315 Make: Purlin Machine, yellow guarding was not secured in a manner that required tooling or other means to defeat rendering the guarding ineffective, employees were exposed to caught in hazards. b) Building 3, On or about January 27, 2023, Machine #: 318 Make: Column Machine , guarding used a slide lock that required no tooling for access which allowed the guard to be defeated, employees were exposed to caught in hazards. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
