29 CFR 1926.451(g)(3)(iv): General requirements. Fall protection. Vertical lifelines, independent support lines, and suspension ropes shall not be attached to each other, nor shall they be attached to or use the same point of anchorage, nor shall they be attached to the same point on the scaffold or personal fall arrest system. a) On or about November 16, 2021, an employee while working on the top tier of a tubular welded-frame scaffold was exposed to a fall hazard measured approximately 26 ft. from a wooded deck. The employee was utilizing two 2 ft. lanyards attached to each other and these lanyards were anchored in the top tier of the tubular welded-frame scaffold as fall protection.
