29 CFR 1910.184(c)(14): Employers must not use slings without affixed and legible identification markings. On or about November 17, 2021, the employer failed to ensure that the nylon slings being used with the overhead 3 ton yellow Yale crane were in good condition in that they were free of excessive dirt, rips and tears and had legible tags in place to depict the weight limits and requirements. Employees are exposed to possible struck by hazards if one of the slings falter when in use or if one is used over its capacity limits.
