Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.219(e)(1)(i): Where both runs of horizontal belts were seven (7) feet or less from the floor level, the guard shall extend to at least fifteen (15) inches above the belt or to a standard height, except that Where both runs of a horizontal belt were 42 inches or less from the floor, the belt was not fully enclosed in accordance with paragraphs (m) and (o) of this 1910.219, and where both runs of horizontal belts were seven (7) feet or less from the floor level, a guard that extended at least fifteen (15) inches above the belt or to a standard height was not provided: a) The employer did not protect employees from contacting horizontal belts with guards which are fully enclosed, or extend at least fifteen (15) inches above the belt or to a standard height. This violation occurred on or about February 14, 2020, and at times prior thereto; when employees were exposed to the unguarded belts on each of the fifty eight (58) belts on Air handler units in the LC8 and LC2.
