29 CFR 1910.37(b)(1): Each exit route was not equipped with operable lighting that to allow employees, with normal vision, to see along the exit route. Taylor Pallets & Recycling, Inc., Winder, GA - In the warehouse area, employees were exposed to a fire hazard when emergency exit route lighting did not work. The employer failed to maintain and test the emergency lighting fixtures on a periodic basis to ensure the lights would function properly during a facility power failure, on or about May 30, 2019. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
