29 CFR 1910.184(c)(1): Sling(s) that were damaged or defective were used: On or about 8/13/15, the employer failed to ensure that the sling being used in the yard to lift vehicle engines/parts, was removed from service due to damage. The synthetic sling, unknown make and model number, was tied to the Hyster H80FT forklift forks, to raise and lower a Toyota engine that had been removed from a vehicle chassis. The sling was frayed, torn, and missing an identification tag with load ratings.
