29 CFR 1910.272(g)(1)(iii): The atmosphere within a bin, silo, or tank in the grain handling facility was not tested for oxygen content prior to employee entry: (a) MEYERS GRAIN FACILITY, BIN 4 - The employer did not ensure that employee(s) had performed atmospheric testing to determine the oxygen content within prior to the employee(s) entering the bin to clean the corn and gluten feed pellets that had accumulated on the sides, on or about October 15, 2018. (b) MEYERS GRAIN FACILITY, BIN 6 - The employer did not ensure that employee(s) had performed atmospheric testing to determine the oxygen content within prior to the employee(s) entering the bin to clean the dried distiller grain that had accumulated on the sides, on or about October 15, 2018. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
