29 CFR 1926.62(f)(1): For employees who used respirators required by 29 CFR 1926.62, the employer did not provide each employee an appropriate respirator that complied with the requirements of 29 CFR 1926.62(f): a) Reptile house attic and habitat area - On or about 02/23/2018 - 03/24/2018, employees used power saws and jack-hammers to perform manual demolition of structures including benches, louvers, and rock features with lead content which ranged between 0.0091%-26.182% by weight and between 33.28ug/10cm2 - 2189ug/10cm2 surface concentration. The employer did not perform an exposure assessment as required under 1926.62(d) in order to determine actual employee exposure. The employees donned filtering facepiece air-purifying respirators which were not appropriate for unknown concentrations. NO ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
