Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003B Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.23(b)(10): The employer did not ensure that any ladder with structural or other defects was immediately tagged "Dangerous: Do Not Use" or with similar language in accordance with �1910.145 and removed from service until repaired in accordance with �1910.22(d), or replaced On or about March 15, 2018, employees were exposed to slip and fall hazards when the (3-step) mobile ladder stand and the job-made mobile ladder stand on line 4 were not tagged nor removed from service. a. The (3-step) mobile ladder stand on line 4 was not steady when used because of, but not limited to, the following damage: a bent step support, bent side rail, and missing a rubber foot b. The job-made mobile ladder stand on line 4 was slippery because of, but not limited to, the following damage: skid resistant material on the on multiple steps had worn off and not been replaced and skid resistant material was loose and not completely adhered to the smooth metal steps. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
