29 CFR 1926.501(b)(2)(ii): Each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level where leading edges are under construction, but who was not engaged in the leading edge work, was not protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. Note: If a guardrail system was chosen to provide the fall protection, and a controlled access zone had already been established for leading edge work, the control line may be used in lieu of a guardrail along the edge that parallels the leading edge. a) Worksite was located at 235 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302 Employees performing layout and taking measurements on the south side of the seventh floor deck where cast-in-place concrete leading edge work was being performed were not protected from falling approximately 9 feet to lower levels. Violations were observed on or about December 8th, 2017 and December 11th, 2017.
