29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(i): Selection of appropriate respirators was not based on the respiratory hazard(s) to which the worker was exposed and user factors that affect respirator performance and reliability: On or about November 2, 2017, and at times prior thereto, in the Passivation Room when employees were required to wear respirators while adding nitric acid and sodium hydroxide to an acid dip tank without having selected the appropriate respirators based on the respiratory hazards or the respirators performance in filtering fumes and vapors.
