29 CFR 1910.177(g)(3): The employer did not establish safe operating procedures to ensure that employees apply nonflammable rubber lubricant to bead and wheel mating surfaces before assembly of rim wheel: (a) 820 Petersburg Road, Carlisle, PA - The employer did not establish a procedure that identified that employees were to use a non-flammable lubricant when servicing tires. The employees used TY 6350 John Deere Multi-Purpose Spray Lubricant, which is extremely flammable to set tire beads, on or about, July 10, 2017. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
