29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. a) Jobsite: 300 Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia PA - Employees performing work while on top of the roof were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 15 feet without conventional or alternative methods of fall protection. Observed on or about 1/28/13 and 3/7/13. b) Jobsite-300 Hunting park Ave, Philadelphia, PA - Employees framing an exterior wall were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 8 to 10 feet without any means of fall protection. On or about 1/28/13. Note: Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
