Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard: EXPLOSION
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970. The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees are exposed to potential fire hazards: a) Building 1125, section 4000 - There were two dead-end corridors that exceeded 50 feet, the corridors were 84 feet. b) Building 1125, cold storage - There were two dead-end corridors that exceeded 50 feet, the corridors were 53 feet. ***ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED*** Among other methods, one feasible method to reduce this hazard is to open the corridor at the end of the aisles, in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association 101, Section 29-2.5.3.
