Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1000(b)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of hydrogen sulfide listed in Table Z-2 in excess of the ceiling concentration of 20 ppm and acceptable maximum peak above the ceiling concentration of 50ppm. At the worksite located at 752 NE 72nd Street in Galt, Missouri 64641, on December 12, 2024: An employee was fatally injured as a result of exposure of hydrogen sulfide gas above the ceiling concentration of 20 ppm and acceptable maximum peak concentration of 50 ppm. The employee entered a hog barn while it was being pumped out. Autopsy findings were consistent with an employee exposure to hydrogen sulfide at a concentration between 500 and 1000ppm while inside the barn.
