29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a)On or about May 13, 2024, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure the Jet drill press Model No:JDP-17MF Serial No. 1080022, located behind the Di-Arco hydraulic press brake in the metal fabrication area, had a guard on the rotating chuck of the drill press. This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards. (b)On or about May 13, 2024, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure the Delta drill press Serial #9111, located behind the Di-Arco hydraulic press brake in the metal fabrication area, had a guard on the rotating chuck of the drill press. This condition exposed employees to caught-in hazards.
