Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(c)(2)(iv):Front-end loaders and similar pieces of equipment shall not be used to support scaffold platforms unless they have been specifically designed by the manufacturer for such use. a. On or about December 4, 2023, located at the jobsite 4547 West Northbank Road, Buckeye Lake, Ohio, a rough terrain forklift was utilized to lift a scaffold platform and a worker over 19 feet for installation of a window. The Genie model GTH-644 rough terrain forklift used by the employer was not specifically designed for supporting scaffold platforms or personnel which exposed employees to fall hazards.
