Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of substances in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average given for that substance any 8-hour work shift of a 40-hour work week: a. On or about March 22, 2023, an employee performing MIG welding activities on aluminum in Station 2 Weldout on the Dump Line was exposed to ozone at an 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA) of 0.1279 ppm during the 341 minute sampling period. This is 1.3 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.1 ppm. Exposure calculations include a zero exposure increment for the 139 minutes not sampled. b. On or about March 22, 2023, an employee performing MIG welding activities on aluminum was exposed to ozone at an 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA) of 0.1863 ppm during the 342 minute sampling period. This is 1.9 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 0.1 ppm. Exposure calculations include a zero exposure increment for the 138 minutes not sampled. c. On or about March 22, 2023, an employee performing MIG welding activities on aluminum Walking Floor Jig Station 1 was exposed to respirable dust at an 8-hour Time-Weighted Average (TWA) of 14.02 mg/m3 during the 350 minute sampling period. This is 2.8 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 5.0 mg/m3. Exposure calculations include a zero exposure increment for the 130 minutes not sampled.
