29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: On or about November 29, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees working in the heat treat department wore protective equipment including, but not limited to aluminized coat, heat protective footwear, aluminized leggings, and a balaclava. Employees were exposed to thermal burns from hazards such as the Lindberg high temperature furnaces, Lindbergh draw furnace, flames created by the oil quench process, and the hot hook from the crane.
