29 CFR 1910.147(e)(2)(i): The work area shall be checked to ensure that all employees have been safely positioned or removed. a) On July 26, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees were first removed or safely positioned from the machine area before energizing the machine to facilitate testing and positioning of the lower wrapper arm on coiler #2. As a result, an employee was exposed when the bottom pneumatic wrapper arm was activated. b) On or about July 19, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees were first removed or safely positioned from the machine area before energizing the machine to facilitate testing and positioning of the spreader/side guides on PR3 Entry. c) On or about July 25, 2022, the employer did not ensure that employees were first removed or safely positioned from the machine area before energizing the machine to facilitate testing and positioning of the Polishing Sled on the coiler roll lines.
