29 CFR 1910.272(j)(1): The employer did not develop and implement a written housekeeping program that established the frequency and the method(s) determined best to reduce accumulations of fugitive grain dust on ledges, floors, equipment, and other exposed surfaces: a) Grain Handling Facility: On May 19, 2021 and at times prior thereto; The employer had not developed a written housekeeping program to specifically manage accumulation of fugitive grain dust on ledges, floors, equipment or other exposed surfaces to reduce the hazards of combustible dust. The Scheduled Cleaning Operations procedures used by the employer applied to all cleaning and maintenance required to ensure feed safety regulations were met. Note) Certification of corrective action is required for this item.
