29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of PNOR Total Dust listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 15.00 mg/m3: On or about July 29, 2020, the employee operating the powder coating painting equipment was exposed to an 8-hour time weighted average concentration of 35.136 milligrams total dust per cubic meter of air (mg/m3) which is 2.342 times the permissible exposure limit of 15.00 mg/m3. The sampling was performed for 442 minutes during one shift on July 29, 2020. Zero exposure was assumed for the un-sampled period of time (38 minutes). Exposure to total dust causes cumulative lung disease in humans. Engineering and work practice controls can be used to reduce employee exposure.
