29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a. On or about April 20, 2021, and at times prior, employees authorized to perform lockout and tagout in the Distribution Center had not received adequate training. Employees performing lockout/tagout and clearing of jams on the Large Pack and Packaging Lines were unaware of the magnitude of energy and were unaware of the means necessary for verification of zero energy state prior to performing maintenance and servicing activities. As a result, employees were exposed to potential electrical and pneumatic energy sources associated.
