Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2):Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: a) Northeast Bay Door, Center Rack: On or about October 22, 2020, lighting fixtures were installed with a flexible extension cord permanently attached to the rack system near the tire maintenance station. The relocatable power tap was observed used as a substitute for fixed wiring and attached to the rack with zip ties, exposing employees to electrical and fire hazards. b) Northwest Bay Door, Center Rack - On or about October 22, 2020, employees used the bottom shelf as a work table to read and write documents, to place hand tools, chemicals, and vehicle parts while performing vehicle maintenance. A relocatable power tap used as a power source for lighting the area, was connected in series to an extension cord and was not directly plugged into the permanently installed outlet, exposing employees to electrical and fire hazards. c) Northwest Bay Door, First Rack, bottom shelf: On or about October 22, 2020, lighting fixtures were installed with a flexible extension cord permanently attached to the rack system when performing vehicle maintenance. A relocatable power tap was connected in series to an extension cord to provide power for lighting, exposing employees to electrical and fire hazards.
