29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): Guard for abrasive wheel machine where the operator stands in front of the machine was not constructed so that the peripheral protecting member could be adjusted to the constantly decreasing diameter of the wheel: A.) Microtech Knives, Inc., 300 Chestnut Street Ext., Bradford, PA 16701, production area, on or about December 12, 2019 and times prior thereto: Employee use a Baldor bench top grinder (Cat. No. 8250W, Serial No. X0904067004) for operations including, but not limited to, grinding/shortening screws. The grinder was not equipped with a tongue guard allowing for a 3/4-inch opening between the grinding stone and the housing of the grinder. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
