Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.146(c)(1): The employer shall evaluate the workplace to determine if any spaces are permit-required confined spaces. NOTE: Proper application of the decision flow chart in Appendix A to section 1910.146 would facilitate compliance with this requirement. a. On or about May 15, 2019, located in the Blast Booth and Paint Department, the employer did not evaluate the workplace for confined spaces for existing or potential hazards when employees entered these space when fabricating, sandblasting, painting, assembly, etc. in truck tanks. The tanks had a restricted means of egress and potential for hazardous atmospheres, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with permit confined space entry.
