29 CFR 1910.266(h)(2)(vi): The backcut did not leave sufficient hinge wood to hold the tree to the stump during most of its fall so that the hinge is able to guide the tree's fall in the intended direction. On or About September 6, 2018 and at times prior thereto trees were felled manually with a chain saw where no hinge wood was left to guide the tree, or a Dutchman was used where the hinge wood was cut through. Abatement documentation and certification are required for this item.
