Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.303(g)(2)(i): Except as elsewhere required or permitted by Subpart S of Part 1910, live parts of electric equipment operating at 50 volts or more are not guarded against accidental contact by use of approved cabinets or other forms of approved enclosures or other approved means: a) The employer, West Side Fabrication, LLC does not guard live parts of a ceiling mounted blower fan operating at 50 volts or more from electrical hazards. On or about March 6, 2018 and at times prior, employees were exposed to this hazard while in close proximity to the ceiling mounted blower motor which had unguarded energized conductors. West Side Fabrication, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1261379, Citation Number 1, Item Number 3a, and was affirmed as a final order on February 7, 2018, with respect to the same fan at the same workplace located at 2120 Naegele Road, Colorado Springs, CO.
