29 CFR 1910.184(d): Each day before being used, the sling and all fastenings and attachments were not being inspected for damage or defects by a competent person designated by the employer: Employees engaged in production activities throughout the facility utilizing chain slings were exposed to struck by hazards in that the slings were not inspected prior to use.
