29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. a. On or about March 28, 2017, located in the Blister Pack Department, unauthorized employees performed service and maintenance activities, i.e. cleaning inside of machines, removing jams and changing out hot plates on Blister machines, without receiving the necessary training to perform the work safely, thereby exposing the employees to the hazards associated with service and maintenance tasks on the Blister machines.
