29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c): (a) On or about March 20, 2017, the employer did not ensure that each employee in an excavation was protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652 (b) or (c). Employees were exposed to cave-in hazards while working in an excavation 18 feet deep, the excavation did not have an adequate sloping, benching or protective system in place in accordance with the above standard.
