29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1)(i): Select, and have each affected employee use, the types of PPE that will protect the affected employee from the hazards identified in the hazard assessment; a) Dish Washing Areas: Stewards washing dishes were not required to use appropriate gloves such as nitrile gloves, to protect against the hazards of Aqua Dry, Aqua Clean and Ovenjell materials. Stewards used synthetic vinyl gloves and were exposed to skin irritation hazards. b) EDR Employee Dining Area: Employer did not require cooks to use appropriate gloves such as wire mesh gloves to protect against the hazards of using meat slicers and knives. The cooks used synthetic vinyl gloves and were exposed to finger amputation related injuries.
