Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 003A Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.132(a): Protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered: On or about February 24, 2017, at the above addressed worksite, employees were operating/cleaning commercial bakery machines, a bench grinder, a drill press, a milling machine, a lathe, a horizontal band saw, pneumatic air hoses, pallet jacks, and were opening the viewing port holes along the sides of commercial natural gas ovens to observe the condition of the bakery products, and were placing/removing bakery products into/from the ovens, and were performing maintenance and cleaning on the various commercial bakery machines/ovens, and were installing/repairing electrical wiring throughout the facility/and on the bakery machines; during which protective equipment was not used when necessary whenever hazards capable of causing injury and impairment were encountered, therefore exposing the employees to: aural hazards, chemical hazards, flying chips and sparks hazards, pneumatic hazards, mechanical hazards, thermal hazards and electrical hazards. NOTE: CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT IS REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION.
