29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide adequate training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees: On or about May 18, 2016, employees performed maintenance activities on the Unit 12 South Gas Fan and the employer did not ensure employees were provided training on the need for each employee to isolate and control the energy sources, understand how to verify the electrical energy has been controlled and properly use the testing equipment and the controls to be used for the residual energy of the mechanical parts of the equipment.
