29 CFR 1910.132(e): Defective and damaged equipment. Defective or damaged personal protective equipment shall not be used. The employer did not ensure that defective or damaged personal protective equipment was not being used in that on January 15, 2016 and February 18, 2016 the metal pourer was observed wearing reflective aluminized coats with torn sleeves, preventing the coat from adequately protecting the arms when pouring molten aluminum at temperatures greater than 1200 degrees Fahrenheit. A & B Foundry & Machining LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 737142, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on December 18, 2013.
