29 CFR 1910.179(e)(6)(i): Exposed moving parts such as gears, set screws, projecting keys, chains, chain sprockets, and reciprocating components which might constitute a hazard under normal operating conditions shall be guarded. a. On or about June 9, 2015, located in the assembly bay area, there was a 10 ton capacity Harnischfeger P & H overhead crane, serial number CH14270, that did not have guarding to protect employees from the exposed moving parts from where the crane's wire rope met the crane's hoisting block sheaves, thereby exposing the employees to a caught-in hazard. b. On or about June 9, 2015, located in the assembly bay area, there was a 10 ton capacity Harnischfeger P & H overhead crane, serial number CH24369, that did not have guarding to protect employees from the exposed moving parts from where the crane's wire rope met the crane's hoisting block sheaves, thereby exposing the employees to a caught-in hazard. c. On or about June 9, 2015, located in the High Bay area, there was a 7-1/2 ton capacity Harnischfeger P & H overhead crane, serial number CH7025B, that did not have guarding to protect employees from the exposed moving parts from where the crane's wire rope met the crane's hoisting block sheaves, thereby exposing the employees to a caught-in hazard.
