29 CFR 1910.27(b)(1)(iii): The minimum clear length of rungs or cleats was not 16 inches. (a)Cyclone Rig #17, 05-045-22491-00, Parachute, CO, 81635: On and before October 21st, 2014, the employer did not ensure that the ladder rungs on each "A" leg of the derrick were not less than 16 inches in length. The length of the 1-1/2 inch angle iron used as ladder rungs on each of the derrick "A" legs ranged from zero to approximately eight inches. The condition exposed employees to falls, lacerations, and full body contusions while climbing the two "A" legs ladders.
