29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): Protective eye equipment was not required where there was a reasonable probability of injury that could be prevented by such equipment: (a) Cleaning and repair department: (1) On or about 11/5/13, employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals such as, but not limited to, phosphoric acid used for cleaning surgical instruments, and were not required to wear chemical splash safety goggles in accordance with this subpart. (2) On or about 11/5/13, employees used grinding machines without wearing protective eye equipment with side shields in accordance with this subpart.
